The Planning Board and Road Commission each have an open seat on the April 30 ballot, but, as of yet, no candidates. Why does no one want to serve? There’s no clear answers, but I expect that relatively few citizens know what these groups do and how often they meet and are therefore not interested in signing up. Elections Update – No Contested Seats and Two Seats with No Candidates
With 9 days to go before the ballot is finalized, the April 30 election may be nothing of the sort. There are 12 open seats in the election and there are not yet any contests. Interested in running for office?
Candidates for office must take out nomination papers from the Town Clerk by Friday, March 7, 2012. Nomination papers are due by Monday, March 11. Candidates need the signatures of at least 25 registered voters to appear on the April 30 ballot. See these articles from The Milford Daily News for more information on the seats up for election.
