So what does it mean to serve on the Planning Board or Road Commission?

The Planning Board and Road Commission each have an open seat on the April 30 ballot, but, as of yet, no candidates.  Why does no one want to serve?  There’s no clear answers, but I expect that relatively few citizens know what these groups do and how often they meet and are therefore not interested in signing up.  I had to dig a little to get the basics, but here it is. Elections Update – No Contested Seats and Two Seats with No Candidates

With 9 days to go before the ballot is finalized, the April 30 election may be nothing of the sort.  There are 12 open seats in the election and there are not yet any contests.  In fact, two seats have no candidates as of yet.  Here’s the list of candidates and the two seats without any candidates, as well as corrected information on how to get on the ballot.
